Exterior 450 is fortified with UV absorbers to help stabilize the finish when exposed to sunlight and includes built-in mildewcide to help retard mold and mildew growth. It can be used as a clear protective coat or as an optional topcoat over General Finishes Milk Paint, making it a versatile choice for both new projects and refinishing applications.

Application Guidelines

For best results, apply Exterior 450 when temperatures are at least 60°F. Do not apply the product in temperatures below 60°F. The finish can be applied with a quality brush or through an HVLP sprayer, depending on the project and desired application method.

When applying multiple coats, allow the previous coat to dry thoroughly before recoating. Lightly sand between coats using 320-grit or finer sandpaper to promote a smooth, professional-quality finish.

Compatible with Stains and Milk Paint

Exterior 450 can be applied over most water-based and solvent-based stains. When using it over a stain or another existing finish, always test the product in an inconspicuous area first to confirm compatibility and ensure the desired appearance.

For outdoor projects, make sure the stain or other coating underneath is also specifically rated for outdoor exposure. Exterior 450 is intended primarily for vertical exterior surfaces and is not recommended as a deck finish.
