Grass Tiomos FF - 160 Deg., Soft Close, 1/4 Overlay - Single Door Kit

Grass Tiomos Faceframe - 160° Soft-Close Hinge, 1/4 in. Overlay - Single Door Kit

Face Frame (Western Style) Cabinet Application

The Grass Tiomos Faceframe 160° Soft-Close Hinge Kit is designed for face frame, or Western-style, cabinets commonly used in residential cabinetry throughout the United States. This single-door hinge kit combines a high-performance 160-degree opening angle with smooth soft-close operation and precise three-dimensional adjustment for easy cabinet door alignment.

Designed for Face Frame Cabinets

• Face frame cabinets are one of the most common cabinet construction styles in the United States.
• These cabinets feature a frame, typically approximately 1-1/2 in. wide, around the front of the cabinet box.
• Cabinet doors attach to the face frame rather than directly to the cabinet box.
• This kit is designed to provide a 1/4 in. door overlay when used with the specified hinge, plate, and cup-hole dimensions.

Grass Tiomos 160° Soft-Close Hinge Technology

Grass Tiomos is an innovative cabinet hinge system engineered for smooth movement, precise alignment, and reliable soft-close performance. Its advanced internal kinematics are concealed within the hinge while providing exceptionally easy door opening and controlled closing.

The Tiomos hinge mechanism allows cabinet doors to be aligned with very small gaps and reveals, giving cabinetmakers greater flexibility when creating clean, modern cabinetry.

Three-Dimensional Cabinet Door Adjustment

The Grass Tiomos hinge system provides three-dimensional adjustment to make cabinet door installation and alignment easier:

• Depth Adjustment: +3/-2 mm adjustment is controlled by a worm gear integrated into the hinge. The adjustment is continuous and self-locking.
• Side Adjustment: ±2 mm lateral adjustment is built into the hinge arm for precise door positioning.
• Height Adjustment: ±2 mm height adjustment is provided through the mounting plate's integrated worm gear.

1/4 in. Overlay Configuration

The door overlay is determined by a combination of the cup-hole distance, hinge type, and mounting plate height. This Grass Tiomos Faceframe hinge kit is configured to achieve a 1/4 in. overlay when installed according to the specified dimensions.

Cup-Hole Distance: This kit is based on a cup-hole distance between 4 and 6 mm (5/32 in. to 15/64 in.). If your cabinet door has a cup-hole distance outside this range, contact McFeely's Technical Support for assistance selecting the appropriate Grass Tiomos hinge and mounting plate combination.

Cabinet Door Thickness

• Suitable for cabinet doors up to 24 mm (approximately 15/16 in.) thick.
• For doors thicker than 24 mm, contact McFeely's Technical Support for help selecting the correct hinge components.

160-Degree Opening Angle

The 160° opening angle provides wide cabinet door access while helping reduce interference with adjacent doors and cabinet components. This makes the Tiomos hinge an excellent choice for applications where maximum accessibility and precise door movement are important.

Soft-Close Hinge Configuration

For most cabinet doors, using a combination of one soft-close hinge and one self-close hinge provides an optimal closing rate. Heavier cabinet doors should typically use two soft-close hinges for improved closing control and performance.

Important Cup-Hole Measurement

Cup-hole distance is the measurement from the edge of the cabinet door to the closest edge of the 35 mm hinge cup hole. Accurate measurement is important when selecting the correct Grass Tiomos hinge and mounting plate combination.
