- Framed cabinets are the most common type in the United States.
- They are called framed cabinets because of the 1-1/2 in. lip (frame) around the front of the cabinet box. The doors are attached to the frame rather than the box.

Kinematics Built Into Tiomos Hinges
- The complex inner workings of this high-tech hinge are hidden from view, but they are most impressive when working together. With the new kinematics in place, doors are extremely easy to open. This mechanism makes precise alignment with the smallest of gaps possible and creates new possibilities for cabinet designers.
- For fine adjustment, the Tiomos hinge system offers three-dimensional adjustment:
- Depth adjustment (+3/-2 mm): Based on the worm gear built into the hinge. Adjustment is continuous and self-locking.
- Side adjustment (±2 mm): Adjustment is made on the hinge arm.
- Height adjustment (±2 mm): The plate included in this kit allows height adjustment via a worm gear.
Achieved Overlay Based on Common Cup-Hole Distance
- The door overlay is achieved through a combination of three factors: the cup-hole distance(b), the type of hinge, and the height of the plate.
- This kit is based on a cup-hole distance between 4 and 6 mm (5/32 in. to 15/64 in.). If your cup-hole distance is outside this range, please contact McFeely's Technical Support for the correct hinge and plate combination.
Door Thickness
- This kit will work with doors up to 24 mm (approximately 15/16 in.) thick. If your doors are thicker, please contact McFeely's Technical Support for help selecting the appropriate hinge components.
Footnotes
For most cabinet doors, a combination of 1 soft-close hinge and 1 self-close hinge delivers the optimal closing rate. Heavier doors should use 2 soft-close hinges.
Cup-hole distance is the measurement from the edge of the cabinet door to the closest edge of the cup hole.
