Face Frame (Western Style)

• Framed cabinets are the most common type of cabinet construction in the United States.
• They are called framed cabinets because of the 1-1/2 in. lip, or face frame, around the front of the cabinet box. The doors are attached to the face frame rather than directly to the cabinet box.

The mechanism allows for precise alignment with exceptionally small gaps and provides cabinet designers with greater flexibility for door-opening configurations.
• For fine adjustment, the Tiomos hinge system offers three-dimensional adjustment:
  • Depth adjustment (+3/-2 mm): A continuous, self-locking adjustment is provided by the worm gear built into the hinge.
  • Side adjustment (±2 mm): Side-to-side adjustment is made directly on the hinge arm.
  • Height adjustment (±2 mm): The plate included in this kit provides height adjustment through a built-in worm gear.

Achieved Overlay Based on Common Cup-Hole Distance

• Door overlay is achieved through a combination of three factors: the cup-hole distance_(b), the type of hinge, and the height of the mounting plate.
• This kit is based on a cup-hole distance between 4 and 6 mm (5/32 in. to 15/64 in.). If your cup-hole distance falls outside this range, please contact McFeely's Technical Support for assistance selecting the correct hinge and plate combination.

Door Thickness

• This kit is designed for cabinet doors up to 24 mm (approximately 15/16 in.) thick. If your doors are thicker than 24 mm, please contact McFeely's Technical Support for assistance selecting the appropriate hinge components.

Footnotes

For most cabinet doors, a combination of one Soft-Close hinge and one Self-Close hinge provides an optimal closing rate. Heavier doors should use two Soft-Close hinges.

Cup-Hole Distance: The distance measured from the edge of the cabinet door to the closest edge of the hinge cup hole.
