CMT Carbide-Tipped Hole Saw for Soft & Hard Woods – 6-in. Diameter

The CMT 6-in. Carbide-Tipped Hole Saw is built for fast, accurate cutting through wood, plastic, masonry, and other construction materials. Its durable carbide-tipped tungsten teeth provide efficient material removal, long cutting life, and dependable cutting performance. With a 6-in. diameter and 2-1/16-in. cutting depth, this hole saw is well suited for woodworking, remodeling, construction, plumbing, electrical, and installation projects.

Versatile Cutting for Wood and Construction Materials

Designed to handle a broad range of materials, this CMT carbide-tipped hole saw provides a versatile solution for creating large, clean openings. It can be used on:

  • Soft and hard woods
  • Chipboard and plywood
  • MDF
  • Plastic
  • Gypsum and plasterboard
  • Tiles
  • Solid brick
  • Aerated concrete block
  • Light-weight aggregate block
  • Breeze block
  • Soft-density lime-sand stone blocks up to 30 N/mm2 hardness

Durable Carbide-Tipped Teeth

The carbide-tipped tungsten teeth are designed for fast cutting and extended service life. Their durable cutting edges help maintain consistent performance through demanding materials while producing accurately sized openings.

Fast Lock Attachment System

The Fast Lock attachment system makes changing compatible hole saws quick and convenient. The hole saw slides onto the compatible shank and clicks securely into position, allowing for efficient setup and faster size changes without requiring additional tools.

Accurate Cutting and Reliable Power Transfer

The CMT hole saw is engineered for controlled, precise drilling, including applications where the hole must be started or cut at an angle. The hex shank design helps maximize non-slip power transfer from the drill, allowing the cutting teeth to work efficiently while maintaining dependable operation.

Enlarge Existing Holes with Precision

The CMT hole saw system can be configured with two hole saws to enlarge an existing opening. The smaller hole saw acts as a guide while the larger hole saw cuts the new diameter, providing a controlled way to increase hole size without relying on improvised templates or guides.

How to Enlarge an Existing Hole

  1. Slide the larger hole saw onto the shank from the back and move it forward until it reaches the ring stop.
  2. Slide the smaller hole saw onto the shank from the front until it reaches the ring stop, then click it securely into place.
  3. Insert the assembled shank into the drill, positioning the larger hole saw against the chuck.

Important: When enlarging an existing hole, the two hole saw diameters must have a minimum difference of 9 mm (23/64-in.).

If the two hole saws require different shank sizes, the CMT-Sh350-DB1 stepped shank is required.

Quick Plug Removal

After completing a cut, plug removal is designed to be quick and convenient. Reversing the drill bit helps release the cut plug from the hole saw, minimizing interruptions and helping you move efficiently from one opening to the next.

Ideal for Woodworking, Remodeling & Construction

With its large 6-in. cutting diameter, carbide-tipped teeth, versatile material compatibility, and Fast Lock attachment system, this CMT hole saw is a practical choice for professionals and serious DIY users. Use it for large-diameter openings in woodworking, remodeling, construction, installation, and general building applications.
