CMT Carbide-Tipped Hole Saw for Soft and Hard Woods – 5-in. Diameter

The CMT Carbide-Tipped Hole Saw delivers fast, precise cutting and extended service life across a wide range of materials. Featuring durable carbide-tipped tungsten teeth, this 5-in. diameter hole saw is designed for cutting soft and hard woods, chipboard, plywood, MDF, plastic, gypsum/plasterboard, tiles, solid brick, aerated concrete block, lightweight aggregate block, breeze block, and soft-density lime-sand stone block with a maximum hardness of 30 N/mm2.

Whether you're installing plumbing, electrical components, ventilation, lighting, or other fixtures, the CMT carbide-tipped hole saw provides the cutting performance and accuracy needed for clean, consistent holes. The 2-1/16-in. cutting depth accommodates a variety of common woodworking, remodeling, construction, and installation applications.

Carbide-Tipped Teeth for Fast, Long-Lasting Cutting

Carbide-tipped tungsten teeth provide excellent durability and cutting performance compared with conventional hole saw teeth. The carbide cutting edges are designed to stay sharp longer while efficiently cutting through demanding materials, helping you complete more holes with less downtime.

Fast-Lock Attachment System

The CMT Fast Lock attachment system allows compatible hole saw sizes to be installed quickly without additional tools. With a simple one-click attachment, changing hole saws is fast and convenient, making it easier to move between different hole diameters during a project.

Fast, Precise Drilling

Designed for accurate drilling, the CMT hole saw helps produce clean, consistent openings even when drilling at extreme angles. The hex shank provides maximum non-slip power transfer between the drill and cutting system for dependable performance during demanding applications.

Precision Hole Enlargement

Need to enlarge an existing hole? CMT makes precision hole enlargement possible by using two hole saws together. The larger hole saw guides the cutting operation while the smaller hole saw engages the existing opening, allowing you to increase the hole diameter accurately without starting over.

How to Enlarge an Existing Hole

  1. Load the larger hole saw by sliding it onto the shank from the back until it reaches the ring stop.
  2. Load the smaller hole saw from the front of the shank until it reaches the ring stop, then click it securely into place.
  3. Insert the assembly into the drill with the larger hole saw seated against the chuck.

Important: If the two hole saws use different shank sizes, the stepped shank (CMT-Sh350-DB1) is required. Hole enlargement requires a minimum difference of 9 mm (23/64-in.) between the diameters of the two hole saws.

Fast Plug Removal

Removing the cut plug is simple. After completing the cut, reverse the drill bit to help release the plug quickly and efficiently, reducing cleanup and keeping your workflow moving.
