The CMT Carbide-Tipped Hole Saw delivers fast, precise hole cutting across a wide range of materials. Featuring durable carbide-tipped tungsten teeth, this 2-7/8-in. diameter hole saw is designed for efficient cutting in softwoods, hardwoods, plywood, MDF, chipboard, plastics, and many masonry-based materials. With a 2-1/16-in. cutting depth, it is well suited for demanding woodworking, remodeling, construction, and installation applications.

Versatile Cutting Performance

Engineered for more than just wood, this CMT hole saw can cut soft and hard woods, chipboard, plywood, MDF, plastic, gypsum and plasterboard, tiles, solid brick, aerated concrete block, lightweight aggregate block, breeze block, and soft-density lime-sand stone block with a maximum hardness of 30 N/mm². Always select the appropriate cutting speed and technique for the material being drilled.

Carbide-Tipped Teeth for Fast, Long-Lasting Cutting

The carbide-tipped tungsten teeth are designed to provide a long service life while maintaining fast cutting performance. The durable teeth help the hole saw handle a variety of demanding materials while producing clean, accurate holes.

Fast Lock Attachment

The hole saw is designed for fast and precise drilling, including applications where drilling at challenging angles is required. The hex shank design provides maximum non-slip power transfer between the drill and attachment for dependable performance.

Precision Hole Enlargement

Need to enlarge an existing hole? CMT makes it possible to use two hole saws together for controlled, precise hole enlargement. This setup allows the smaller hole saw to guide the larger hole saw through an existing opening.

How to Enlarge an Existing Hole

1. Load the larger hole saw by sliding it from the back of the shank until it reaches the ring stop.
2. Load the smaller hole saw from the front of the shank until it reaches the ring stop, then click it securely into place.
3. Insert the assembled setup into the drill with the larger hole saw positioned against the chuck.

Important: Hole enlargement requires a minimum difference of 9 mm (23/64-in.) between the diameters of the two hole saws.

If the two hole saws use different shank sizes, the CMT-Sh350-DB1 stepped shank is required.

Fast Plug Removal

Removing the cut plug is quick and convenient. Simply reverse the drill bit to help release the plug from the hole saw, minimizing downtime between cuts.
