How to Enlarge an Existing Hole

The CMT hole saw system makes it possible to enlarge an existing hole with precision by mounting two compatible hole saws together. Follow these steps:

1. Load the larger hole saw by sliding it from the back of the shank toward the ring stop.
2. Load the smaller hole saw from the front of the shank toward the ring stop and click it securely into place.
3. Insert the assembled shank into the drill with the larger hole saw seated against the chuck.

Important: If the two hole saws use different shank sizes, the stepped shank CMT-Sh350-DB1 is required. Hole enlargement requires a minimum difference of 9 mm (23/64-in.) between the two hole saw diameters.
