Before PocketMax many manufacturers used a fine thread screw for hardwoods and a coarse thread screw for soft woods. PocketMax® is a product that incorporates a thread design with an elongated cutting point that practically eliminates splitting and cracking in hardwood frames. Several large cabinet manufacturers in the United States have already switched to this new fastener because it has greatly reduced splitting and cracking of their hardwood frames while increasing holding power and speeding up their assembly times.

Our ProcketMax screws thread design features cutters built right into the thread design. Tiny saw blades are formed into first three to four thread revolutions that cut through wood while displacing a minimum amount of material. By displacing less material than a Type-17 point the PocketMax thread design offers greater holding power. Testing shows that it ofters 15% more holding power than a double Type-17 screw sold by our competitor while eliminating splitting.
