Freud has designed a saw blade specifically for composite decking, Trex to be exact. You know the mushrooming effect you used to get when driving screws into composites; that was really frustrating until composite deck screws solved the problem. Cutting deck boards to length can be just as frustrating if you don't use this Diablo Trex blade. A modified triple-chip grind tooth configuration, coupled with a nonstick Perma SHIELD coating, reduces material melting. It also uses a high-density carbide tooth to maximize the blade life. The blade has a thin kerf, reducing material removal and lowering drag, resulting in lower blade temperatures. Lower heat means no swirl marks and less gumming, resulting in longer life.
