Live-Center EB-TYS w/o Screws to Allow for Board Movement - 1/4 in. spacing
Designed to allow for movement in Kiln-Dried and Other Materials that move with moisture changes.
The Live-Center feature is a hollowed-out board spacer. As the wood expands with increases in relative humidity, the hollowed-out spacer in the Eb-Ty will flex, keeping the spacing the same and providing expansion room for the wood's movement.
DIMENSIONS:
- Height = 1/2 in.
- 'Width = 1 in.
- Length = 2-3/8 in.
- Board Spacing = 1/4 in.
- Thickness = 0.14 in.
INSTALLATION:
- use a biscuit jointer to make a recess in boards without grooves in the edge. Drive the screw at an angle. For end boards, drive a head-coated screw through the top of the board on the edge without the Eb-Ty.
- Use with trim head wood screws, 305 or 316 stainless steel.
- Use 305 stainless steel for most environments.
- Use 316 stainless steel for highly corrosive environments such as salt water or salt spray (within 2 miles of ocean), dockside, poolside, etc.
