It can be used in decking that will shrink or expand as it acclimates. The low profile (shorter height than the original) allows for use with thinner deck boards starting at 3/4 inch.
Use the live center version if you expect the wood to expand

EB-TY Hidden Mini Deck Fastener Clips

Mini Height has a lower height for use with 11/16 in. and 3/4 in. decking.

DIMENSIONS:

  • Height = 13/32 in.
  • 'Width = 1 in.
  • Length = 2-3/8 in.
  • Board Spacing = 3/32 in.
  • Thickness = 0.14 in.

INSTALLATION:

  • Simply use a biscuit joiner to make a recess in boards without grooves in the edge. Drive the screw at an angle. For end boards, drive a head-coated screw through the top of the board on the edge without the Eb-Ty.
  • Use with #7 x 2-1/4 in. trim head wood screws, 305 or 316 stainless steel.
  • Use 305 stainless steel for most environments.
  • Use 316 stainless steel for highly corrosive environments such as salt water or salt spray (within 2 miles of ocean), dockside, poolside, etc.
