Create classic raised panel doors with the CMT Panel Raising Router Bit. Designed for clean, precise cuts, this bit features premium carbide cutting edges, CMT's signature orange coating for durability, and an anti-kickback design for safer operation. The 18-degree straight bevel profile produces a traditional raised panel edge for professional cabinet and furniture projects.
Features:
18-degree straight bevel profile for classic raised panel door designs
Premium carbide cutting edges for long-lasting performance and clean cuts
CMT orange coating helps protect against wear and extends tool life
Anti-kickback design improves safety during operation
Designed for use with router tables and routers of at least 2-1/4 HP
1/2 in. shank provides strength and stability for demanding applications
Safety tips: These bits should be used between 10,000 and 12,000 RPM. Three to five passes are recommended for best results. Always use with routers mounted in a router table and a minimum 2-1/4 HP router.
Safety precautions: Always wear a dust mask and eye protection when routing. Never use damaged or worn bits. Maintain the recommended feed rate and never force the bit through the material. When making the initial cut with a small diameter bit, take extra care. For best results, make cuts in multiple passes.
How CMT Produces High Quality Router Bits
Turning, Milling and Cutting: CMT invests heavily in advanced manufacturing technology. Fully automated CNC machinery, operated by specially trained technicians, ensures router bit shanks and bodies are manufactured with exceptional accuracy and balance.
Heat Forged Steel Bodies for Large Diameter Bits: Large diameter bits may require additional manufacturing steps, including heat forging the steel before precision machining. This process creates a radial grain structure that provides added strength and durability.
Brazing: CMT pioneered advanced brazing techniques using custom computerized equipment to ensure consistent bonding. The silver-copper-silver brazing process creates a strong connection between steel and carbide while absorbing shock to help protect carbide tips during demanding cuts.
Specially Formulated Carbide for Specific Applications: CMT develops carbide formulations tailored to different woodworking applications, balancing hardness, durability, and impact resistance for optimal cutting performance.
Grinding and Sharpening: Every cutting edge is precision ground and sharpened on multi-axis CNC machines. Each angle and bevel is finished to exacting tolerances for a razor-sharp edge with exceptional durability.
