Apollo Green Standard “A” Air Cap

The Apollo Green Standard “A” Air Cap is a specific atomizing cap used on the Apollo Sprayers 7500 and 7700 series HVLP spray guns. It’s the smallest of the standard air caps and is designed for fine, low-viscosity finishes.

  • Fits 7500 & 7700 series spray guns
  • Pairs with 0.8 mm needle/nozzle setup
  • Best for:
    • Stains
    • Dyes
    • Inks
    • Water-based clears
    • Thin lacquers and fine finishes

What it does (in practice)

The “A” cap produces:

  • A fine, tight spray fan
  • Smaller atomization pattern (more control, less material output)
  • A smoother finish for detailed or delicate coatings

It’s basically the cap you choose when you want precision over speed or heavy material flow.

Where it sits in the system

Apollo organizes caps like this:

  • Clear Coat cap (0.5 mm) – ultra-fine finishing
  • A cap (0.8 mm) – fine finishes (your part)
  • B cap (1.0–1.5 mm) – general finishing
  • C cap (1.8–2.0 mm) – thicker coatings
  • D cap (2.5 mm) – primers/heavy materials

If you want, tell me what you’re spraying (clear coat, stain, primer, etc.), and I can help you confirm whether the Green “A” cap is actually the right choice or if you’d be better off stepping up to a B or HS version.
