Apollo Gold High-Solids “B” Cap for the Apollo 7500 & 7700 Series Spray Guns

The Apollo Gold High-Solids “B” Cap is an air cap designed for Apollo 7500 & 7700 Series Spray Guns when spraying thicker, high-build coatings like primers, urethanes, and high-solids finishes.

On its own, it’s just the atomizing cap component (not a full spray gun kit), and it’s specifically the “HS” (High Solids) version of the standard B-cap.

What it’s used for

• Built for high-viscosity coatings (thicker paints and industrial finishes)
• Works with larger fluid setups, typically:
  • ~1.0 mm to 1.5 mm setups (high-solids B-cap pairing)
• Optimized for better atomization of heavier material without excessive thinning

What makes the “B HS” cap different

Compared to the standard B cap:

• Designed to move more air and material
• Produces a softer, wetter spray pattern for heavy coatings
• Helps reduce orange peel when spraying thick finishes

According to Apollo’s cap system:

• B HS cap = mid-range fluid sizes (about 1.0–1.5 mm) for high-solids materials
• It sits between fine finish caps (A/clear coat) and heavy caps (C/D for very thick materials)

Compatibility note

It only fits:

• Apollo 7500 Series Spray Gun
• Apollo 7700 Series Spray Gun

If you’re spraying:

• Cabinets, urethanes, waterborne finishes → this cap is often a good match
• Very thin lacquer → it’s overkill (use a clear/A cap instead)
• Very thick primer or latex wall paint → you’d usually step up to a C HS cap
