These hardened steel screws are coated with our NoCoRode finish for superior corrosion resistance compared to normal zinc-plated screws, making them an exceptional value for most non-marine exterior applications.
Screws used in installing decking or for building outdoor furniture need a special coating to protect them from the elements and the treated wood itself. In 2004 ACQ™ treated wood became the standard in the pressure treated decking industry. It does not contain arsenic like the old CCA TM type wood, but is very unfriendly to fasteners, as copper reacts with bare metal, causing the fastener to fail prematurely. NoCorode that offers unequalled protection. It has been tested to achieve over 2000 hours in accelerated salt spray testing in ACQ™ (Alkaline Copper Quaternary) used to protect lumber from rot, fungi, insects, and termites in treated lumber.
Deep Thread: Characterized by a reduced diameter shank resulting in a deep thread profile. A single lead thread, meaning that one revolution advances the screw one pitch. (Pitch is equal to 1 divided by the number of threads per inch. For a screw with 10 threads per in., one revolution will advance the screw 1/1O in. into the wood.)
The deep thread form provides superior resistance to pull-out.

NOTES:
- NoCoRode coated screws provide corrosion resistance in most environments. Compared with SS screws, which are more corrosion-resistant, NoCoRode screws are stronger thanks to their hardened steel core. Due to usage variables, we cannot guarantee the screws against corrosion.
- Use NoCoRode Undersized driver bits for best results.
