Hex Machine Nuts are used with machine Screws that cannot be run through a threaded hole to complete the connection process. Hex, Hexagon, or six-sided nuts with matching threads are used to tighten the connection with the machine threaded bolt. Machine screws and nuts are referred to their nominal size threads and are used on sizes up to ¼ in.
Hex Nuts have a flat top and bottom bearing surface and beveled or chamfered corners. The chamfer decreases any scaring on the opposing surface as the nut is tightened.
Please make sure to match the grade of the machine screw and nut so you get the proper strength and safety of the assembly.
