The Tormek T-8 sharpening machine is engineered to deliver exceptional precision, stability, and control for sharpening a wide range of edge tools. Its revolutionary fully cast housing provides a rigid foundation for the Universal Support, helping ensure accurate, repeatable sharpening results every time.

The Universal Support is the foundation of the Tormek sharpening system because it controls the positioning of grinding jigs and accessories. On the T-8, the sleeves that previously mounted to the machine are fully integrated into the cast housing. This design minimizes play in the Universal Support and improves overall sharpening accuracy and control.

The Tormek drive system maintains a consistent grinding speed, even under full load. The powerful AC motor is designed for continuous operation and drives the full-size Tormek Original Grindstone SG-250, which is suitable for sharpening virtually all types of steel, including high-speed steel (HSS).

Improved Water Trough

The T-8 features an advanced water trough designed for easier setup and maintenance. A convenient screw lift makes fitting the trough simple, while the integrated magnetic scraper collects steel particles during sharpening and makes cleaning the trough easier afterward.

For longer tools such as chef's knives and planer blades, the included water chute helps direct excess water back into the trough, keeping the work area cleaner during sharpening.

Tool-Free EzyLock System

The stainless steel main shaft incorporates Tormek's unique EzyLock nut. This innovative system automatically applies the correct torque to secure the grinding wheel without requiring tools. EzyLock also makes changing between grinding wheels quick and convenient when using optional Tormek stones such as the SB-250 Blackstone or SJ-250 Japanese Waterstone.

Complete Sharpening System

The Tormek T-8 comes equipped with essential tools and accessories to get started sharpening right away. The included SE-77 Square Edge Jig provides precise control when sharpening chisels and plane irons, while the TT-50 Truing Tool, SP-650 Stone Grader, WM-200 AngleMaster, and PA-70 Honing Compound provide the basic equipment needed to maintain the grinding wheel and achieve a sharp, polished edge.
