The universal design of this 4 in. post cap provides high capacity while eliminating the need for rights and lefts. For use with 4x or 6x lumber. Adjustable design allows greater connection versatility.
There are many ways to join posts to the beams they support. Most of the common bolted connections involve time consuming joinery that can create gaps and cracks that collect water and promote decay. These heavy duty stainless steel connecting plates are easy to use, require no special joinery skills (other than the ability to swing a hammer and effectively shield the joint from the accumulation of water. The End Post cap is designed for post connections at the end of a beam, where the beam does not extend beyond the post. It requires (20) 16d x 3-1/2" joist hanger nails (included) for complete fastening and to achieve the manufacturer's allowable ratings.
End post caps must be installed in pairs which sandwich the joint in order to perform as designed. End post cap connecting plates are made in the USA of 18 gauge, 316 stainless steel.
