Brass Square Screw Assortment
Solid Brass is a durable and strong metal made by combining zinc and copper.
Solid Brass is desirable in hardware and mounting screws because of its durability and decorative appearance. It also provides corrosion resistance that you will not get from aluminum or plated steel screws.
While these screws may be more costly than traditional screws like them, in restoration work, they will match the original ones that are being replaced.
Brass screws are so soft that you need everything working in your favor when installing them. That is why Square Drive makes so much sense.
Drill a properly sized pilot hole (this is extremely important! If you do not drill the pilot hole, you can be assured that the screws will snap just like any other solid brass screw. Brass is just very soft.
