Our ProMaster-Plus thread design features cutters built right into the thread design. Tiny saw blades are formed into the first three to four thread revolutions that cut through the wood while displacing a minimum amount of material. By displacing less material than a Type-17 point, the ProMaster Plus thread design offers greater holding power.

Our testing shows that it offers 15% more holding power than a double Type-17 screw sold by our competitor while eliminating splitting.

This new revolution in thread design technology was developed for and is very popular in the furniture and woodworking industry for its easy driving while offering optimum holding power.

The flat head with its typical countersink is the most commonly used screw. The countersink is the beveled surface under the head. The top of the head is flush with the material when the screw is seated. The countersink normally has an 80-82 degree angle. Variations of this angle are in use. Some European hardware requires a 90° or 100° head angle.

The round washer head design is possibly the most versatile head design available. A washer is formed as part of the head, providing a larger bearing area that is especially useful when fastening soft materials. The flat bearing surface under the head prevents the screw from being countersunk. ProMaster Plus has serrated teeth built into the thread design, which offers many advantages- quick starting, reduced splitting, less drive torque, and a tighter hold. Square-Phillips combo recess drive is designed to offer the dependability of a square drive recess with the convenience and after-market serviceability of a Phillips drive. They are commonly used when hanging kitchen and bathroom cabinets and for pocket-hole joinery in exterior projects. Great for attaching countertops, too!

Our Unplated Dry Lube finish is a dry-to-the-touch lubricant that reduces driving torque and does not interfere with dust collection systems or bleed during the staining process of fine woodworking. McFeely's offers a wide variety of Unplated Dry Lube or "lube" finish. More economical than plated parts, they are popular among professional woodworkers. They are a brownish color that allows them to blend well into wood.

Plain or non-plated screws can have a variation in appearance that occurs at the time of heat-treating. The appearance can vary from a silver-gray steel look to a bronze look. This variation in appearance does not affect the performance of the screw.
