GF RTM Tint Base Clear - Gallon

General Finishes RTM Tint Base Clear - Gallon

General Finishes RTM Tint Base Clear is the clear base component of the Ready To Match (RTM) professional stain system, designed to give finishers greater control over custom wood stain colors. Combine the clear base with RTM stain colors to create rich, deep, custom shades for a wide range of woodworking and finishing applications.

The RTM system features 12 ready-to-use, low-VOC, water-based stains along with the clear tint base. The system is supported by a chip box containing 96 color formulas displayed on two-sided color chips, as well as stock color chips for convenient color selection and matching.

Create Custom Wood Stain Colors

The clear tint base provides the flexibility needed to adjust color intensity and develop custom stain formulations. Intermix the RTM colors and clear base to create unique shades or reproduce existing colors with greater consistency. This makes the RTM system especially useful for professional finishers who need reliable color matching across furniture, cabinetry, millwork, and other wood projects.

Professional Color Matching

The RTM system includes a formula book available in both print and digital formats. The formulas allow finishers to calculate the proper quantities of each component needed to produce a desired color and batch size. This helps simplify repeat orders and maintain color consistency from one project to the next.

The RTM Chip Box provides a practical reference for comparing colors and matching an existing finish. Use the color chips to identify the closest available shade, then customize the formulation by intermixing RTM stains with the clear base as needed.

Versatile Application

General Finishes RTM stains can be applied by brush or spray, providing flexibility for both smaller woodworking projects and professional production environments. Spray application is particularly useful for achieving efficient, consistent coverage on cabinetry, furniture, and larger surfaces. Refer to the recommended spray tip sizes for proper application equipment selection.

Low-VOC Water-Based Formula

The RTM system uses water-based stain technology with a low-VOC formulation, making it a practical choice for professional finishing environments where efficient application and responsible product selection are important.

General Finishes RTM Tint Base Clear - Gallon is designed for finishers who require a flexible foundation for creating and reproducing custom wood stain colors.
