General Finishes RTM Golden Brown - Gallon

General Finishes RTM Golden Brown is a professional-grade, LOW VOC, water-based wood stain designed for use within the General Finishes Ready To Match (RTM) Stain System. This versatile stain provides professional finishers with a convenient way to create consistent, custom wood stain colors while simplifying color matching for furniture, cabinetry, millwork, and other woodworking projects.

The RTM system consists of 12 ready-to-use LOW VOC water-based stains, including Golden Brown, along with a clear base that can be intermixed to develop a wide range of rich, deep wood stain colors. By combining the individual RTM colors and clear base according to established formulas, finishers can reproduce existing colors or create custom shades to meet specific project requirements.

Designed for Accurate Color Matching

General Finishes RTM makes color matching easier by providing a comprehensive selection of formulas and color references. The system includes a chip box featuring 96 color formulas printed on two-sided color chips, along with stock color chips for convenient color comparison. These references allow finishers to evaluate colors and identify the appropriate stain combination for matching an existing finish.

A formula book is also available in both print and digital formats, providing the information needed to calculate stain quantities for projects of different sizes. Whether producing a small batch for a single piece of furniture or preparing larger quantities for production work, the RTM system helps streamline the color formulation process.

Versatile Application

General Finishes RTM Golden Brown can be applied by brush or spray, making it suitable for a variety of professional finishing environments. Spray application can provide efficient and consistent coverage for larger projects, while brush application offers flexibility for smaller projects and detailed work.

For spray application, use the recommended spray tip size for the equipment and product configuration. Refer to the RTM category heading for current spray tip size recommendations and application guidance.

Rich, Customizable Wood Color

Golden Brown provides a warm brown color option within the RTM color system and can be used on its own or combined with other RTM colors and clear base. Intermixing the system's stains allows finishers to adjust color depth, warmth, and intensity to achieve a desired appearance or closely match an existing wood finish.

Ideal for Professional Finishing

The General Finishes Ready To Match system is designed to take the guesswork out of custom stain formulation. Its combination of ready-to-use colors, clear base, color chips, and detailed formulas provides a practical solution for professional woodworkers, cabinetmakers, furniture manufacturers, restoration professionals, and finishing shops.

For best results, always prepare the wood surface properly and test the selected color and application method on a representative sample or scrap piece before finishing the final project. Wood species, preparation, application technique, and existing finish conditions can all affect the final appearance.
