Black screws are a nice finish for both decoration and functionality.
The black finish comes from a chemical "conversion coating" for metal, where the surface is subjected to an electrochemical or chemical process, leaving a coating on the metal and converting it into a protective and decorative coating. This process adds a level of mild corrosion resistance along with the aesthetic or decorative appearance and minimizes the reflection of light off the surface.
Deep Thread: Characterized by a reduced diameter shank resulting in a deep thread profile. A single lead thread, meaning that one revolution advances the screw one pitch. (Pitch equals 1 divided by the number of threads per inch.. For a screw with 10 threads per in., one revolution will advance the screw 1/1O in. into the wood.)
The deep thread form provides superior resistance to pull-out.
