The Easy Chuck™ by Easy Wood® is a versatile woodturning chuck designed to simplify workholding for a wide range of turning projects. Instead of relying on multiple chuck bodies, the Easy Chuck uses one 4-inch chuck body with interchangeable jaw sets, allowing you to quickly configure the chuck for different project sizes and shapes.
With six available interchangeable jaw options, the Easy Chuck provides a flexible workholding system for everything from small bowls and vessels to larger woodturning projects. The included dovetail jaws install using innovative snap-lock technology, allowing jaw changes in approximately 30 seconds without screws or wrenches.
Fast, Easy Jaw Changes
The Easy Chuck features snap-lock jaw technology that makes changing jaw sets quick and convenient. Simply install the jaws into the chuck body and they lock securely into place. This tool-free jaw installation makes it easy to switch between different workholding configurations as your project changes.
Quick Jaw Adjustment with the Zoom Ring
A hand-operated Zoom Ring provides fast initial jaw adjustment. Turn the ring by hand to quickly bring the jaws into contact with your workpiece, then use the included chuck key to tighten the chuck securely. This combination of rapid adjustment and final tightening helps streamline setup at the lathe.
Secure Dovetail Workholding
The Easy Chuck jaws feature a dovetail design that helps securely grip the workpiece during turning. The jaws can be operated in either compression or expansion mode, giving you greater flexibility when mounting different types of woodturning projects.
Compression and Expansion Modes
Use the jaws to grip a workpiece by applying inward compression or outward expansion force. Compression provides strong workholding for many applications, while expansion allows the jaws to grip inside a recess or opening. Use care when applying outward expansion force, as the amount of force a workpiece can safely withstand depends on factors such as wood species and the thickness of the material surrounding the jaws.
