The CMT 45 Degree Lock-Miter Router Bit is designed to create exceptionally strong miter joints with perfect alignment and a professional finish. By cutting complementary interlocking profiles, this bit allows two pieces of stock to fit together securely while increasing glue surface area for a durable, long-lasting connection.
Lock miter bits make setup simple by allowing one piece of material to be routed face up and the mating piece to be routed on edge. Once properly adjusted, the resulting joint aligns itself during assembly, making it ideal for building boxes, cabinets, columns, frames, and other woodworking projects that require clean, seamless corners.
This router bit features a 2-in. diameter with a 7/8 in. cutter height and a 1/2 in. shank for use in router tables. It is designed for working with stock from 1/2 in. to 1 in. thick. For best results, use only in a router table and make test cuts on scrap material before routing your final workpieces.
Tip: After dialing in the perfect setup for a tight-fitting joint, save a sample test piece. This setup reference will make future adjustments faster and easier whenever you use the bit again.
Application: Use in a router table only. Proper setup and test cuts are recommended to achieve the tightest lock-miter fit.
