Designed for trim work and other wood connections around residential projects, these SPAX® trim head screws feature a yellow HCR® (High Corrosion Resistance) coating for enhanced corrosion protection when fastening treated lumber and other compatible wood materials. The trim-style head is designed to countersink for a clean, flush, near-hidden finish.

HCR® High Corrosion Resistance Coating
The yellow HCR® coating system is designed to extend the service life of SPAX® fasteners used in treated lumber applications. The dual-barrier system incorporates an electrically applied substrate and proprietary organic topcoat, providing up to 1,000 hours of salt spray performance.
4CUT™ Point for Easier Installation
The SPAX® 4CUT™ point is engineered to penetrate wood fibers efficiently without requiring pre-drilling in many applications. Its specialized arrow-shaped geometry helps create a fast initial grip, reduce insertion torque, and minimize the tendency of wood to split. For hard woods, pre-drilling is recommended even when using a 4CUT™ point.
Clean Finish for Trim and Composite Materials
The trim head is designed to sit flush or near flush in the material for a discreet finished appearance. The reverse-thread section helps draw surrounding composite material back toward the fastener hole as the screw is driven, reducing mushrooming and helping produce a more uniform surface.
Recommended Applications
These SPAX® trim head screws are suitable for a variety of interior and exterior wood connection applications, including residential construction, wood trim, treated lumber, and compatible composite decking materials. They are intended for use with pressure-treated lumber and general-purpose wood trim products within appropriate AWPA use categories, including UC1 through UC4A.
For applications involving cedar or redwood substrates, SPAX® recommends using stainless steel fasteners for enhanced corrosion resistance.
