The True Multi-Tasker - For Use in Multiple Materials including Hard and Soft Wood, Masonry, Concrete, Plastic, and Sheet Metal (a)

A patented MULThread design featuring ribs on the underside of the head facilitates a clean, flush or countersunk finish in wood and acts as a brake against metal hardware to prevent stripping out and pull-over. The SPAX Flat Head Unidrive Screw is a premium quality, high-performance wood screw with a drive system for use in either a Phillips or square drive bit installation. Designed for wood applications, but versatile and functional for multiple materials, including masonry, drywall, and plastic, the zinc coated, standard thread flat head Unidrive screw delivers professional results.

Square-Phillips Recess or Combo Drive offers the positive fit of Square/ Robertson® recess with the after-market serviceability of Phillips drive. A square bit is used to insert the screw and a Phillips driver can be used to remove the screw at the after-market level. Like the square drive, the Combo drive requires a minimum amount of pressure (appx. 4.5 foot pounds) to keep the bit engaged in the head. This reduces the possibility of carpal-tunnel syndrome for workers that drive screws all clay long on a production line.

The silver appearance of Clear Zinc has been around for many years and remains very popular. It also provides a moderate level of rust protection. Since this is a true electroplating, the zinc coating is part of the surface of the steel and very durable.

Deep Thread: Characterized by a reduced diameter shank resulting in a deep thread profile. A single lead thread, meaning that one revolution advances the screw one pitch. (Pitch is equal to 1 divided by the number of threads per inch. For a screw with 10 threads per in., one revolution will advance the screw 1/1O in. into the wood.)

The deep thread form provides superior resistance to pull-out.

FEATURES:

  • Patented Multi-Head helps countersink head
  • Patented Serrated Threads for faster easier driving
  • Patented thread serrations and unique 4CUT™ Point eliminate pre-drilling and help guard against splitting (a)
  • Heat treated to Grade 5 durability to guard against cam out and breaking.

NOTE:

(a) - Pre-drilling required for concrete/masonry applications
