#8-32 x 3/8 in. Brass Threaded Inserts, Hand-Driven

For when you need to assemble and disassemble something frequently.

INSTALLATION:

1. Drill a hole the same diameter as the body diameter or drill Size.
2. Thread in the insert into the prepared Pilot Hole
3. Drill a clearance hole in the piece to be joined and assemble with the appropriate machine screw.

Best when used in side or face grain.

Note: These inserts are not compatible with threaded insert driver bits. Accordingly, they must be either hand-driven or driven with a self-made driver bit.

A self-made driver bit can be made out of a machine screw or bolt of the same thread size.

1. Cut the head off the screw or bolt usine a bolt cutter or hack saw
2. Screw on two nuts and tighten against each other with with screw threads protruding that will be inserted into the threaded insert
3. Screw the threaded insert onto the self-made driver bit until contact is made with the two nuts.
