5/16 x 5-1/8 in. GRK RSS Washer Head Structure, 305 SS, Star - Qty:40 with Bit

The Rugged Structural Screws (RSS™ for short) are made with specially tempered steel to provide high tensile, torque and shear strength.

Use these screws wherever you might otherwise have chosen Lag Screws such as attaching ledger boards, constructing retaining walls and for timber framing. The shorter versions can be used for installing wire diamond mesh for stucco buildings.

FEATURES:

• Extra-sharp threads and point bite into wood reducing the splitting you sometimes get.
• Self-tapping, W-Cut thread design and Zip-Tip™ point.
• Built in washer head to reduce "pull through" or "dimpling" into the timber when tightened.
• CEE thread that enlarges the screw hole for the non-threaded portion of the fastener, allowing the wood to settle easily and increasing the screw's drawing strength
• The CEE thread also reduces the likelihood of splitting the wood and the friction on the screw shank which can result in lowering the driving torque.
• Generally, pilot holes are not required. Pilot holes are only needed if the building material manufacturer requires it.
• These 305 Stainless Steel screws have a limited lifetime warranty against staining and rusting.
