These versatile bits fit 1/4 in. hex quick-change chucks.
The hex key or more commonly known Allen is a key hexagonal socket drive tool that fits in the recesses in fastener heads with hexagonal sockets in their heads.
Allen Wrenches are named for a hexagonal set screws and wrenches that were by the Allen Manufacturing Company. They produced hexagonal set screws and wrenches to fasten them. The terms "Allen wrench" and "Allen key" are derived from the Allen brand name and the refers to a generic product category of "hex keys".

Depending on the driver size, bits are available in lengths from 1 in. to 6 in.. Note that 1 in. Long wire detent bits are designed exclusively for use in mag bit holders; longer ball detent bits fit any bit holder using the standard 1/4" hex ball detent design. Do not use ball detent bits in standard magnetic bit holders designed for wire detent bits, becasue the ball detent causes them to get permanently stuck!
