Secure roofing materials with 4d x 1-1/2 in. Ring-Shank Roofing Nails made from 304 stainless steel. Designed for roofing applications, these nails feature an annular ring shank that provides greater pull-out resistance than a smooth-shank nail. The large, flat head offers increased bearing surface to help hold roofing materials firmly in place.
The annular ring shank features raised rings along the nail shaft that help grip the surrounding material and resist withdrawal. This design provides dependable holding power for roofing installations where secure fastening is essential.
Made from 304 stainless steel, these roofing nails offer excellent corrosion resistance for many outdoor applications. They are suitable for general exterior use but are not recommended for seaside, poolside, or salt-spray environments, including locations within approximately 2 miles of saltwater. For these highly corrosive conditions, 316 stainless steel roofing nails are recommended.
When fastening slate roofing, select a nail length that allows the nail to pass through the slate and the underlying roofing material while providing adequate penetration into the supporting structure. As a general guideline, double the slate thickness and add 1 inch to determine the required nail length.
Important: For roofing projects in coastal areas, near swimming pools, or in locations exposed to salt spray, choose 316 stainless steel fasteners for improved corrosion resistance.
