3/8-16 x 5/8 in. Solid Brass Threaded Inserts for Hard Wood
Brass threaded inserts are an excellent choice for projects involving softer materials like soft wood, hard wood, thermoset plastics, and thermoplastics.
Threaded brass inserts create a more secure join between components and provide a reusable connection when a product needs to be disassembled and reassembled.
Installing threaded brass inserts is easy. When using threaded inserts for plastic, simply press the insert into the molded plastic. On the other hand, threaded inserts for wood can be easily installed with a screwdriver, bolt/jam nut or a drive tool.
Keep in mind that insert hole size requirements can vary quite a bit depending on the material and other factors; for this reason, we recommend testing out a product before committing to your final project installation.

Installation:
- Drill a hole the same diameter as the body diameter or drill Size.
- Thread in the insert into the prepared Pilot Hole using an installation bit
- Drill a clearance hole in the piece to be joined and assemble with the appropriate machine screw.
Best when used in side or face grain.
