18-8 Stainless Steel Tee Nuts

Put Corrosion Resistant Threaded Holes Wherever You Want Them!

FEATURES:

  • 18-8 Stainless Steel
  • 4-prongs

CAUTION:

Do not mix metals. For example, mixing stainless steel with galvanized fasteners (screws, washers, nuts) will cause accelerated corrosion.

Why?

  • For all you scientists, the mixing of these two metals creates a cathode and an anode. When an electrolyte (water for example) is present electrons will flow from the least noble metal to the most noble. In this case electrons will flow from the zinc to the stainless steel. This transfer of electrons accelerates corrosion. The more conductive the electrolyte (saltwater for example), the faster the corrosion.
  • For the rest of us, just don't do it!

Not intended for seaside / salt spray applications
