Easy to Forget, Hard to Build Without!
For some reason it is surprisingly easy to forget that you need hex nuts if you are building with either carriage bolts or hex-head screws - I have done it often enough to know! Heavy-Duty Hex-Head screws and carriage bolts are great for exterior projects, but you need to use the correct nut too. These heavy-duty nuts are the perfect match for our hot-dip galvanized fasteners.
Hot dipped galvanized is a coating for very good corrosion resistance.
Warning: Do not mix metals like Galvanized and Stainless Steel. The mixing of dissimilar metals will cause Galvanic Corrosion. Please see our information in McFeely's University on Corrosion in Fasteners.
