Using Stainless Steel machine screws or bolts? It only make sense to use Stainless Steel nuts and washers too. Why? Because of Galvanic Corrosion. Mixing metals such as stainless steel with galvanized steel sets up a chemical reaction in which one metal reacts to the other causing accelerated corrosion. Just don't do it!
Another property of stainless steel is that it can "galls" (seizes) when tightening a nut under load making it difficult to move. This can be prevented with "Anti-Seize" thread treatment. (MA-1343)
