An acorn nut, also called a blind nut, cap nut, crown hex nut, domed cap nut, or dome nut.
It is a nut that is domed end on one side with threads on the lower end. Used with a machine-threaded fastener with external or male threads. The domed end will enclose the threads to either protect the thread or protect nearby objects from contact with the thread. The dome gives a more finished appearance.
These Acorn nuts are made of 18-8 or 316 Stainless Steel to provide corrosion resistance.
These are low, or the standard acorn nuts.
