Manmade wood products like Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), particle board and flake board have many uses, but attaching hardware to them can be difficult.
E-Z Hex™ inserts feature broad external threads that provide exceptional holding power in materials like pine, composition board, MDF, and plywood. We offer E-Z Hex™ with internal threads. These threaded inserts are designed to cope with the fine grain structure of these materials. The specially designed interrupted knife threads easily cut their way into these materials yet offer significant resistance for removal. Flanged version prevents driving these too deep beneath the surface. Install with a metric sized hex wrench, or the appropriately sized driver to install.
The silver appearance of Clear Zinc has been around for many years and remains very popular. It also provides a moderate level of rust protection. Since this is a true electroplating, the zinc coating is part of the surface of the steel and very durable.
