SPAX PowerLag Screws offer a wide selection of code-recognized structural wood-to-wood fasteners. Featuring SPAX's patented thread technology, they require no pre-drilling and drive faster and easier than conventional lags and other structural screws.
Hex Head: The large hex head provides excellent contact with the workpiece and delivers strong clamping force for tightening wood-to-wood joints.
The silver appearance of Clear Zinc has been popular for many years and provides moderate corrosion protection. The zinc coating is electroplated onto the steel, creating a durable finish for interior applications.
SPAX® 4CUT® point: The 4CUT® point enables fastening without pre-drilling (depending on the wood). This is achieved through its special screw tip. The arrow shape pushes through the fibers of the wood, ensuring a fast grip. This effectively prevents the material from splitting and reduces the insertion moment. For hard woods, we recommend pre-drilling even when using SPAX with 4CUT.
Deep Thread: Characterized by a reduced diameter shank resulting in a deep thread profile. A single lead thread, meaning that one revolution advances the screw one pitch. (Pitch is equal to 1 divided by the number of threads per inch. For a screw with 10 threads per in., one revolution will advance the screw 1/10 in. into the wood.)
The deep thread form provides superior resistance to pull-out. This design feature is commonly called a Lo-Root® or Production Screw.
