Hanger Bolts Specs

Hanger bolts have wood screw threads at one end and machine threads at the other. Screw one end into wood, and the exposed end provides a machine-threaded stud. All bolts have an unthreaded center to make installation easier.

Ideal for storm proofing windows and other demanding exterior applications. To stormproof wood-frame homes, just screw the hanger bolt into a stud behind the siding. Installation on masonry-veneer homes requires installation of a quality lag shield first. The exposed machine-threaded stud provides for easy mounting of window coverings (5/8 in. plywood is recommended by FEMA). Remember to cover exposed studs when not in use to protect against injury.
