Hurricane Preparedness

Boarding up for a Hurricane

Prepare your windows for a Hurricane easily by covering the windows. These simple items will make the job easy. Picking the hole placement for the screw on your home is important; we are expecting the hole to get covered later. It needs to anchor strong enough to hold gale-force winds. Install the hanger bolts on the building. Pilot holes will make this stronger and easier to install. Cut your material plywood, plastic, or hurricane panels to the window size, leaving room to attach the nut and bolt. If you have the bolts ready to measure for the other corners, drill a hole in the window covering. The wing nuts or knobs will hold the plywood in place. The knob will allow for some measurement errors and is easier to work with when you might be in a rush.
