McFeely's Fastener Recommendations for ASTRODOCK

McFeely’s evaluated the AstroDock to see what kinds of fasteners worked best and here is what we looked at:

Selection Criteria:

Self-Drilling or Sharp Point
Square, Combo or Torx Drive
Length between 2-1/4 and 2-1/2 in.
Flat or Bugle Head

McFeely’s recommended these screws to be used with AstroDock decking:

For stainless steel protection in a non-extreme corrosive environment – 8 x 2-1/4 Self-Drilling Bugle-Head Deck Screw, 305 Stainless Steel

SPAX® – Double Thread Lock – 10 x 2-1/2 Flat-Head Double Thread Lock Screw, 304 Stainless Steel

For oceanside, pool side or other highly corrosive environments – 8 x 2-1/2 Self-Drilling Bugle-Head Deck Screw, 316 Stainless

For corrosion protection in a coated steel core screw – 8 x 2-3/8 Self-Drilling Flat-Head Deck Screw, NoCoRode Coated Steel

Caution: Do not over tighten screw. If over tightened, the screw head will penetrate completely through the plastic. It is best to use a clutch or torque-controlled drill.
