Now there is a Stainless Steel screw that is ideal for attaching plywood or solid wood decking to the metal frames used in truck trailers. In addition to the self-drill tip, wings protrude from the shank and cut a clearance hole in the wood. When the wings hit the metal decking, they fold right up. Nibs on the underside of the head allow the screw to self-countersink. These have a #3 self drilling point which when used with light gauge steel is designed for a total metal thickness of .110" to .210". Head diameter: 0.450" Made of Type 410 (magnetic) Stainless Steel. Taiwan.

Comments about 10 x 1-7/16'' Wafer Head 410 Stainless Steel Trailer Decking Screws:
This is a very nice screw for attaching wood to thin steel. Screws were strong and did not strip out in either the thread nor the philips head. Sank perefectly falt into hard plywood. Good size "washer" head. Would be nice if Mcfeely listed head dia. and the "machine" threaded length. 3/4" is about the max. wood thickness for the 1 7/16" screw. I did break a few Dewalt bits installing.
