Specially designed for hanging cabinets, Extra-large truss head spreads the clamping load out, so the screw does not bury itself in the hanging strip. Read More
Use 10 x 3 screws when attaching cabinets to wall studs or use 2-1/2 in. L screws when attaching to 2 x 6 blocking. We carry several suitable fasteners for this purpose (but you already knew that, didn’t you?). For a finished appearance without resorting to screw caps or plugs, the 10 x 3 truss-head cabinet-hanging screw is prefinished with a clear-zinc-plated, white or almond head. The large bearing surface of a 10 x 3 round-washer-head screw helps prevent crushing of the hanging strip, and the screws are available in a range of finishes. To match the cabinet interior more closely, our #10 flat heads can be driven flush and covered with screw caps or driven through a trim washer (which also increases the bearing area). Clear-zinc-plated, yellow-zinc-plated or stainless-steel screws are recommended for kitchens and baths to minimize discoloration.
Carpentry Cabinet Hanging Screws can have a wafer head, flat head or head cabinet screw and come in yellow zinc for corrosin resistance or clar zinc and Claimatek Coating by GRK. They have holding power because of the larger washer or wafer head. There is usually no need to drill a pilot hole. drive or recess can be a T-Star or T-Star Plus by Spax or a T-Star Drive by GRK. These wood screws have a greater holding power for cabinet hanging than do Trim Head screws that have a smaller head.
