Pocket Hole Joinery: What You Need to Pocket hole joinery is popular because it is a fast, strong, easily adaptable, precise method of assembly. Joints are as strong as mortise & tenon joints and can be made in a fraction of the time. Award-Winning Kreg Jigs use a 3/8” counterbore bit with an 11/64” pilot to drill a 15° angle into the first piece. With the joint tightly clamped, a special self-drilling pocket hole screw is placed in the pocket and driven tight to complete the joint. Pocket Hole screws feature an auger point to prevent raising a chip between the two parts during assembly, ensuring a tight joint. A large pan head with a #2 Square Recess and extended unthreaded shank enable a pocket hole screw to draw the two members of the joint tight.

Comments about 6 x 1-1/4 Pocket Hole Screws, Unplated Steel, Flat Pan Head, Square Drive:
When I first heard of McFeely's I made an order and got their screw assortment pack or whatever it's called. I knew then when it was time to buy face frame cabinet screws again I wouldn't have to shop around. mcFeely's pocket screws are very high quality and work perfectly for the application. I simply won't buy screws anywhere else.
Use them in 3/4 pocket holesc- perfect!

The thread in the screw is aggressive, but not overly so.Therefore, using a little sense these work great in solid wood as well as plywood.
