Whether you’re cutting curves or ripping and resawing lumber, you’ll get the best cut when you use the widest possible blade. But what is the widest possible blade? The table below lists the minimum curve radius each blade size can cut.

Tooth Style:
Tooth Style: "Regular " tooth blades are a general-purpose configuration designed for contour sawing and cut-off work. "Skip " tooth blades are designed for resawing and ripping of thick materials. "Hook " tooth blades have extra-wide gullets for rapid cutting of solid hard/ soft woods and multiple layers. Omitting every other tooth lets the blade hold more chips between teeth, resulting in a faster, less demanding cut. Cut quality is reduced, however, since fewer teeth make the cut
Note: These blades are NOT recommended for saws with wheels smaller than 10 in. The blade flexing associated with smaller wheels causes unacceptable fatigue in the thicker high-alloy steel used in these blades, resulting in premature blade failure. Spring steel blades are a better choice for those saws.
