ProMaster Plus flat-head screw performance is now available in a round-washer-head screws – and in a variety of plating’s to suit almost any application! Sawtooth threads near the tip help the screw cut its way into the wood and increase holding power. Pilot holes are still recommended for fine cabinetry, though. Screws act like a wedge to force the wood fibers apart. The pilot hole removes the excess material, so the screw’s sole function is clamping. Primarily decorative for interior applications in acidic woods like White Oak, the black-oxide coating and the yellow-zinc and statuary-bronze plating do provide some protection against staining. Use NoCoRode Plus mechanically galvanized screws for economical corrosion resistance in exterior applications and use the dry lube screws where the fastener is not exposed. Due to usage variables, we cannot guarantee these screws against corrosion.
