Acorn and Wing Nuts are specialty nuts for special purposes.
Wing nuts are one-piece nuts that have two upward protruding wings from the round flat bottom bearing surface. The wings are 180 degrees apart and are designed to be hand tightened using your fingers. Use in applications that are easily installed or removed where quick assembly or disassembly is required.
Acorn Nuts are used as a decorative cap or as a jam nut over a standard nut to conceal and protect the threads of the bolt. Acorn nuts are sometime referred to as hex cap nuts, crown nuts, dome nuts, or cap nuts.
