Hex head self-drilling screws have made life easier for heating and ventilation contractors and sheet metal workers in the same way that Square Drive screws have improved woodworking. Magnetic Nut Setters are now available with the IMPACTECH technology for use in today’s high impact power tools.

Socket Adapters

Use socket wrenches on your drill! Spin down a loose nut with your electric drill or drive hex-head machine screws without investing in a set of “nut runners.” Lock one of these 1/4 in. hex shank adapters into your drill chuck, Make it Snappy™ quick-change chuck, cordless screwdriver or any other tool that accepts a standard 1/4" ball detent driver. Then pop a 1/4 in. or 3/8 in. socket on the end, and you’re in business. Obviously, not for changing lug-nuts, but for snugging up nuts or machine screws prior to final tightening with a wrench that can’t be beat.

A magnetic insert holds screws to the bit magnetically; a wire ring in the holder grips 1"L wire-detent-style bits firmly enough that you may need to use a pair of pliers to remove them. Hex shank fits Jacobs®-style three-jaw drill chucks, most power screwdrivers, and quick-change chuck adapters. Use only with 1"L insert-style bits – ball detent bits will get stuck.
