Specially designed for Pocket Hole Cabinet Construction (aka face frame), these pocket hole screws have combined the toughness of our pan head screws. A self tapping auger point prevents the screw from forcing the rail and stile apart as it advances from part to part. A standard screw point can raise a chip between the parts, resulting in a gaping, unprofessional joint. The shank on a pocket hole screw is only threaded for the first 5/8 to further reduce the possibility of cross-threading. The Fine thread version is designed for hardwoods like Oak and Cherry that accept fine threads without stripping yet require the strength of a larger shank. You normally can’t see pocket hole screws as they are installed so it can be hard to gauge their progress. Use a clutch equipped drill and avoid disaster! Made in China/Taiwan. #2 Square Recess.
